[Upgrade] Announcement on the Upgrade of sslTrus CaaS Standalone Subscription Feature

Dear user:

To better meet your SSL certificate automated management needs, sslTrus CaaS has recently completed a function upgrade and officially supports the independent subscription mode. The core changes and usage instructions of this upgrade are described below.

I. Upgrade Background

According to the CA/B Forum proposal "SC-081v3", the validity period of SSL certificates is being gradually shortened: it has now been adjusted to 200 days, will be reduced to 100 days later, and will eventually be shortened to 47 days in 2029. The frequency of certificate renewal will increase exponentially, and the demand for automated management is becoming increasingly urgent.

Since its launch, sslTrus CaaS has focused on providing lightweight automated operation and maintenance services for users holding 1-10 certificates. This upgrade aims to further improve the flexibility and applicability of the product.

II. Core Changes

Change 1: No need to bundle with newly purchased certificates

Previously, subscribing to CaaS required purchasing it together with a new certificate. After the upgrade, CaaS becomes a fully independent subscription service. Your existing SSL certificates (regardless of brand) can be directly subscribed to CaaS and bound without repurchasing certificates.

Change 2: Support flexible certificate rebinding

During the subscription period, you can unbind the current certificate and bind a new certificate at any time in the console. All automated deployment and monitoring policies will be seamlessly inherited by the new certificate, and the remaining subscription validity period will remain effective, ensuring that your investment is not wasted.

III. Usage Methods

The upgraded CaaS supports the following three usage scenarios:

Usage MethodDescription
Existing certificate upgradeUsers who already hold certificates can subscribe to CaaS and bind their existing certificates to activate automatic renewal, deployment and monitoring services for them.
Subscribe first, configure laterUsers who have not yet determined the certificate can subscribe to CaaS first, and bind the certificate after it is ready, with the service taking effect immediately.
Rebind upon expirationWhen the bound certificate expires or is replaced, you can unbind the old certificate and bind a new one; the remaining validity period will automatically follow, and all policies will be fully retained.

IV. Operation Guide

  1. Log in to the Racent platform console.
  2. Go to the certificate details page and click the "Bind CaaS Service" button.
  3. Follow the prompts to complete the subscription and bind the target certificate.
  4. After successful subscription, the automated deployment and monitoring policies will take effect immediately.
  5. If you need to unbind or rebind a certificate, you can operate on the CaaS management page, and the system will automatically inherit the original policies.

V. Notes

  • CaaS is a subscription-based service, billed annually, and supports monthly refunds.
  • Existing certificate binding is not limited by brand, but domain ownership verification is required.
  • Flexible certificate rebinding does not incur additional fees, and the remaining validity period is automatically transferred.
