[Change] Maximum Validity Period of SSL Certificates from sslTrus, Sectigo, DigiCert and Other Brands Adjusted to 199 Days

 Greetings! Thank you very much for your long-standing trust and support in Racent.

 According to the SC-081v3 proposal of the CA/Browser Forum, the maximum validity period of public SSL certificates will be adjusted in phases, and the first phase of the adjustment will be officially implemented on March 15, 2026. To align with this requirement, brands including sslTrus, Sectigo, DigiCert, and GlobalSign will successively adjust the maximum validity period of public SSL certificates to 199 days starting from late February. The specific adjustment schedule is as follows:

Notice
  • The maximum SSL certificate validity period adjusted by each SSL certificate brand is one day less than the maximum validity period permitted by the CA/Browser Forum.
  • The content of this notice is based on industry standard documents and brand announcements. We will issue a separate notice if there is any change to the adjustment schedule.

Scope of Impact

  • Newly issued certificates: Starting from the adjustment date, the maximum validity period of all newly issued public SSL certificates will be 199 days.
  • Certificate renewal: Starting from the adjustment date, the maximum validity period of all renewed SSL certificates shall not exceed 199 days.
  • Certificate reissue: Starting from the adjustment date, the maximum validity period of all reissued SSL certificates shall not exceed 199 days.
  • Existing certificates: Certificates that have been issued and are within their validity period will not be affected, and can be used normally until their expiration date.
