Do I need to re-apply for a certificate if I lose the private key?

If the CSR was generated when you applied for the certificate on our platform, you can re-download the private key from the order.

However, if the CSR was generated externally, you will need to either re-apply for a new certificate or reissue the existing certificate.

• When reissuing a certificate, you need to generate a new CSR. Once you have a new private key, use the new CSR to reissue the certificate. Please refer to the Certificate Reissue Guide
